The word Bromo comes from Javenese pronounciatio of Brahma, the Hindus creator god. Mountain Bromo itself sits in the middle of vast plain called ‘Segara Wedi’ (Sea of Sand, in Indonesia: Lautan Pasir). We can have good view to see Sea of Sand from Mount Pananjakan (2.770 metres or 9.08 feet). In Mount Pananjakan we also can enjoy the beatiful sunrise. The view point of Mount Pananjakan we can use jeep or on foot by two hours. From the inside we can see caldera with its sulfur that collected by the worker.
The ideal time to visit Bromo mountain is on dry season (April-November), during that time you have better chance to see a blood red sunrise, you can also enjoy warmer part of the day, after heavy fog go away. The temperature in the top of Bromo mountai around 5oC. In July, it can drop until 0oC. So wear the warm cloth.
Three times a year this tourism spot full of the tourist. In February when annual ceremonies and festival take a place, over Christmas, and during July and August when school holiday.
